New Delhi: Under the directives of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the guidance of Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, the state has taken a significant stride toward elevating its tourism sector to new heights. For the first time in the country, a state is presenting tourism through an organized, coordinated, and multi-city campaign. In line with this, the Uttarakhand Tourism Department kicked off a pan-India integrated road show from Delhi, which saw participation from over 250 industry stakeholders from Uttarakhand and the Delhi-NCR region. This campaign will continue in major metropolitan cities across the country in the coming months.

This national initiative, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami and Tourism Minister Maharaj, aims primarily to transform Uttarakhand into a 365-day tourism destination. Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj attended the event as the chief guest. Accompanying him were Tourism Secretary Dheeraj Singh Garbyal, Additional Secretary Tourism Abhishek Ruhela, Managing Director of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Vishal Mishra, Managing Director of Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam Vineet Tomar, along with several departmental officials, industry representatives, and prominent tour and travel operators.

Highlighting the road show’s strategy, the organizers stated that its central goal is to connect the travel trade and tourism industry in Delhi-NCR with Uttarakhand’s adventure, winter, wellness, spiritual, cultural, and experiential tourism products. Discussions also focused on plans to develop Uttarakhand as a future wedding destination, a spiritual mega circuit, and an international tourism gateway.

The program began with a welcome address, followed by Tourism Minister Maharaj sharing the state’s comprehensive tourism policy, new opportunities, and commitment to establishing Uttarakhand on the international stage. Subsequently, Additional Secretary Abhishek Ruhela presented on the state’s tourism vision and future prospects, Vishal Mishra on GMVN’s plans, and Vineet Tomar on KMVN’s upcoming strategies.

The road show also featured insights from leading industry experts. Padma Shri Ajit Bajaj discussed the future of adventure tourism in Uttarakhand, Tarun Thio covered various aspects of snow leopard sightings, Karan highlighted emerging possibilities in winter adventure tourism, and Abhishek Ahluwalia shed light on the expanding capabilities of hospitality, hotels, and homestay networks. These speakers described Uttarakhand as India’s safest, most thrilling, and well-organized adventure and holiday destination.

The event included B2B dialogues, Q&A sessions, networking lunches, and one-on-one business meetings, with enthusiastic participation from Delhi-NCR’s tour operators, travel agencies, hotel groups, and adventure institutions. The industry views Uttarakhand as the next big success story on the national tourism map.

Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said, “This road show series will play a crucial role in multiplying tourism investments, industry collaborations, and visitor arrivals in the state. Similar participation-based activities will be organized in various cities across the country. Our priority is to establish Uttarakhand as the national hub for winter tourism, where tourists can enjoy skiing, snow trekking, and winter festivals. We are developing places like Joshimath, Auli, and Pandukeshwar as Winter Char Dham and sunshine tourism spots, ensuring devotees get year-round darshan and spiritual experiences. Programs like snow leopard sightings from Dharchula to Nelang Valley and ultra runs in Niti Valley will give Uttarakhand a new identity on the global tourism map. We will collaborate with tourism sector partners—tour operators, hotels, and adventure experts—to develop new products, packages, and possibilities. Our objective is clear: to make Uttarakhand India’s premier tourism state ‘for every season, for every traveler’.”

Tourism Secretary DhiRaj Singh Garbyal added, “This campaign is a decisive step toward realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to make Uttarakhand India’s tourism capital and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s vision of turning the state into a year-round destination. The Delhi road show not only energized the tourism community but also proved that Uttarakhand is now emerging as India’s most dynamic, safe, diverse, and investment-capable tourism state.”

This road show will infuse new energy into Uttarakhand’s tourism sector and prove instrumental in granting the state a stronger global identity.
